Glass Terrace in Ihlara Valley

The Glass Terrace project is beginning in one of the biggest valleys in the world, The Ihlara Valley.
Dr. Evren Dinçer, who is making a lot of projects to unearth the tourism potential of Aksaray, will provide the tourists with an opportunity to see the view, churches and historical landmarks from the above.

Ihlara Vadisi, which is known as the entrance gate to Cappadocia, hosts more than a million domestic and international tourists each year. It is foreseen that these numbers will rise after the completion of the Glass Terrace project.

A cooperation protocol was signed with Ahiler Kalkınma Ajansı for the Glass Terrace in this scope. The stage of completion has been reached with the Glass Terrace project’s technical works, which had a project cost of 18 Million TLs. Construction will soon begin in the site of the project.


The Glass Terrace will be built 117 metres upwards from the valley. The guests will be able to see the valley from high above in the terrace which will have 10 metres of open space. From the Glass Terrace, where our guests will experience the excitement and the adrenaline to its fullest, all the natural and historical beauty of the valley will be able to be seen. In scope of the Glass Terrace project, which will increase the tourism density of the Ihlara Valley, a parking lot, masjid, a walking path, photographing spot, amphitheatre and a cafeteria is planned to be constructed in the project site.

Mayor Dr. Evren Dinçer, who made some explanations on the Glass Terrace project which will increase the tourism value of the city, expressed; “We are going to offer a sight to be seen in the Ihlara Valley, one of the biggest canyons in the world, which resembles an outdoor museum thanks to its historical and natural beauties. “By actualizing the Glass Terrace project which was also nicknamed “The Pearl of Cappadocia”, we are going to offer our visitors the opportunity to see the view, churches and historical landmarks from the above. We are going to keep on working to unearth all the potential our city has.”
