1. It may improve heart health

Other early research suggested that olive oil and its high polyphenol content may have a protective effect against type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer. However, more research is needed before firm conclusions can be drawn.
Is olive oil healthy for everyone?
As a staple food for many of the world's healthiest populations, olive oil is seen as a good choice for the majority of people. However, rare reports of allergies have been recorded, but these are typically to the pollen of the olive tree rather than the oil of the fruit.
The use of olive oil with high calorie density should be moderated by substituting it for other fats used in the diet.
